Gayelene Allen has recently started as a Hong Kong Team Member. She has written about the challenges of settling in and missing family and friends, but how watching people grow in God is exciting and rewarding.
“Church is great! We have our services on a Saturday night and at the moment there are around 50-60 of us. Wednesday and most Friday nights are our times for outreach where we sit in McDonalds or Starbucks and just chat to people and then we have our Uni Outreach on Thursday’s. We run an English Club at the uni, it just started last week and one person came. Small beginnings but it is the start of something great. This Sunday, we had our church beach day. There was over 20 of us and around 12 of those people were unsaved! It was a great turn out and an awesome day.
Lifegroups are at the heart of Jesus Lifehouse, and are run each week. My first lifegroup I went to there was a salvation! It was great to see God working! She had been coming to lifegroup for awhile but decided she needed to give her all to God. So we prayed the salvation prayer in the middle of the uni. She is from mainland china and is in Hong Kong studying. Each week we see her grow, her understanding is amazing!”
