Mothers Heart

At last!!! We are able to share our vision for the work we are about to begin here in Cambodia. We have been researching unwanted pregnancies and abortion rates, the stats are very alarming along with the Maternal Mortality rate accompanying abortion.

From this research we have been able to formulate a concept paper and budget in response to the findings.

In April I was able to visit an organization in Hong Kong who have been operating for over 20 years offering crisis pregnancy counseling and vialble alternatives to abortion. The were very keen to see a similar work established in Cambodia. There are currently two sister organisations operating in China & Nagaland, India.

We will start a work called “ Mothers Heart” in Phnom Penh which will offer crisis pregnancy & contraception counseling, and viable alternatives to abortion for single girls who are faced with an unplanned pregnancies.

We want to empower girls to make the best decision for themselves and their babies future.

Levi is Born

We would like to introduce you to Levi, our helpers baby. Sao is an orphan who became pregnant while working for us and her husband deserted her during her pregnancy.Katrina was able to provide all her antenatal care and attend the birth. Levi was born a month early only weighing 2kg 1gram. He is now 2 months old and has doubled his birth weight.

Thanks to some very generous people, she has been able to stay home and care for him for the first two months of his life. The local church has been a great source of support, both spiritually and practically. We attended his dedication recently. Sao was our prototype for “Mothers Heart”. We have been able to arrange some part time work, as there is no social welfare system in Cambodia. Thanks to all those who prayed and helped Sao & Levi!
